LAVSKRIKA'S NICE N SHORT HTML WEBSITE TUTORIAL!!

Welcome, welcome - dear friends!

I must admit this feels somewhat unnatural for me, to articulate myself in English. But I guess this is a good way to practise - in a welcoming space like this. I wanna reach an audience wider than my Norwegian mutuals. Hope you're able to follow along while I try to formulate a comprehensible and quick guide. Shoutout to my friends in different continents - I'm happy the internet exists.

Step 1) Joining the collaborative website!!

You wanna be featured with a creative or other nerdy medium you prefer and share it with this online community? This neocities blog welcomes anyone who are open to learn basic HTML coding, to be able to independently post and to create this website as we go!

The best way to join is to e-mail me, Marie, and I will make you a basic skeleton of a website for you to customize and play around with - fill it with whatever suits you!

My e-mail adress is marie_rodahl@hotmail.com

Step 2) Sign in via Neocities.org/login

Username: lavskrika
Password: NeoCity2026 (I mean, most people won't ever look at this site, so let's make it public property for cool people like you guys!)

Step 3) Click on the red "Edit site" button on the right side

Here you get to the dashboard for editing the blog

-> Press Name of your page.html and you will get to the HTML sheet!

This is the construction site basically, where the coding happens. I promise it's so so simple - all you need to know is how to use basic elements, which is everything from the start to the end tag. These angle brackets (<>) are used to signal what you want to communicate. More on that in the next paragraph!

Step 4) Upload your material to the HTML sheet using elements

Let's say you want to write a book recommandation on your site (pls feel free to write and post all sorts of medias, tho!). In this case you would like to start with a header, stating the topic. Here is a guide for different sizess of text for you to post:

This is an example of a heading code:

THIS IS THE HEADING, SIZE H2

The most common tags look like this:

About adding pictures

You would need to either:

1) upload the image adress of the photo
2) or upload a locally saved photo from your computer of phone.

If you have a photo you want to use from online -> Right click on your photo (if it is from a website) and press "copy image adress".

This is the code you want to use, just paste the image adress link in between the " ".

Any questions? You can always contact me on e-mail or DM on Insta!

Yes! This was not the best guide but I think you can do it if you just log in and try. But first let me know that you want your own site, and I'll fix it :D

GOOD LUCK AND I'LL SEE U ;)
